Aligning with Heaven
Aligning with Heaven

Yang Sheng Qi Gong (養生氣功) is a set of eight standing postures that are designed to cultivate Qi, the vital energy of life. It is a deeply involving practice, both physically and mentally.

To do Yang Sheng Qi Gong, you stand in each posture (A total of eight) for several minutes (recommended at least 1 minute), focusing on relaxing your body and breathing deeply. As you do this, your Qi will begin to flow more freely.

To help you loosen and release the tension throughout your body, one focuses your Qi, you can use the intention (Yi) to gather and focus your Qi at the Tan Tien point, two inches below your navel. (see below)

As you continue to practise Yang Sheng Qi Gong, you will become more centred and focused, and your Qi will become stronger and more abundant.

Here is a more detailed explanation of some of the key concepts in the draft:

  • Zhan Zhuang: A Chinese system of standing meditation that focuses on cultivating Qi.

  • Qi: The vital energy of life.

  • Postures: The eight postures of Yeung San Hei Kung are designed to align the body and mind, and to promote the flow of Qi.
